Moose Creek Rec Centre Gets A Boost

The volunteers of the Moose Creek Recreation Association are pleased to announce they have been awarded funding in the amount of $74,142. from the Eastern Ontario Development Program.

The funds, used to help cover the costs of hiring a General Contractor/Project Manager to build the new Moose Creek Recreation Center and Outdoor Rink were a huge contributor to the success of the project.

The grass roots project saw the community at large come together with local businesses and all levels of government to replace the aging recreation building in the village of Moose Creek. The resulting structure will be enjoyed for generations to come as a testament to volunteerism in rural communities.

“What has been truly amazing is the community spirit behind this project; Moose Creek certainly has a strong, dedicated partnership with the residents and businesses that have so generously supported this project”, stated Terry Besner, of the Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry Community Futures Development Corporation.

The Eastern Ontario Development Program (EODP) is a $10-million Government of Canada Initiative which promotes socio-economic development in rural Eastern Ontario, encourages a competitive and diversified regional economy, and contributes to the successful development of business and job opportunities and sustainable, self-reliant communities. art of this fund is locally administered through the Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry Community Futures Development Corporation (SD&G CFDC).
