Youth Entrepreneurship Coordinator
(Full time, determinate position ending August 2012 - 3 vacancies, one each in the counties of Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry, Prescott & Russell, and Renfrew)
Under the supervision of the Executive Director of the CFDC, the Youth Entrepreneurship Coordinator will be responsible for the final development and implementation of a bilingual Youth Entrepreneurship Program.
Primary responsibilities will include:
- Community outreach to local elementary, secondary and post-secondary schools;
- Ongoing promotion of program activities to school boards, principals, teachers, and participants, including teacher and student orientation to program content;
- Collaboration with local entrepreneurs to arrange their participation in program activities as required;
- Development of project background and resource materials, including website content;
- Design and implementation of marketing strategies;
- Coordination of community and recognition events;
- Collaboration with regional Program partners and local Small Business Enterprise Centres (SBEC);
- Development and facilitation of Summer Regional Youth Entrepreneurship Camps; and
- Daily program administration tasks.
Qualifications:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both French and English;
- Post-secondary education (College or University) in Business-related field with experience instructing groups; or Post-secondary education (College or University) in an Education-related field with strong knowledge of entrepreneurship principles and practices; or an alternate acceptable combination of education and experience;
- Valid Class G (or G2) Driver's License with clean driver's abstract as well as access to a vehicle;
- Experience developing and implementing new initiatives;
- Comfortable working with children, young adults, teachers and professionals in a collaborative setting;
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal and presentational skills;
- Marketing or public relations experience would be considered an asset.
*Remuneration will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
*Regular travel throughout the program territory will be required.
